Job Description Summary:

Position will be directly responsible for developing donor acquisition strategies for direct mail and telemarketing efforts focused on increasing gifts from patients and friends of the GW Medicine as part of its grateful patient philanthropy efforts. The position will report directly to the Executive Director, Development and Alumni Relations, in collaboration with the Associate Vice President, GW Medical Center Development and Alumni Relations. Also, the position will:
-Develop a dynamic plan for donor acquisition of patients and families of the GW Medical Center to include online giving, direct mail, and telemarketing.
-Manage effective relationships with development and marketing professionals across GW Medicine and University.
-Work effectively with academic leadership and medical faculty at SMHS, MFA, and GW Hospital to increase grateful patient philanthropy from individuals.
-Employ marketing principles to acquire, upgrade, steward and re-engage donors and prospects.
-Develop and implement effective cultivation and stewardship programs to support donor acquisition and annual giving.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree

At least three years experience in non-profit fundraising with a focus on direct marketing and annual giving.

Demonstrated expertise in donor marketing, particularly in direct marketing and telemarketing. Proficiency in donor marketing data analysis.

Desired Qualifications:

Superb writing skills, especially when writing for a donor audience.

Special Instructions to Applicants:

Job Duties
  • Develop annual cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies for donor marketing programs that include online giving, direct mail, and telemarketing programs to increase grateful patient philanthropy

  • Write, edit, and coordinate the development, approval and production of all donor marketing materials in partnership with marketing teams across the GW School of Medicine to include MFA, GW Hospital, Central Development and School of Medicine Health Sciences.

  • Develop revenue and expense projections for all programs and manage budget and timeline

  • Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual analysis of all donor marketing programs. Manage vendors related to these activities

  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
