The University of West Florida invites applications and nominations for the position of Executive Director, Marketing and Creative Services. The incumbent will develop the data-driven marketing and branding strategy for the university; oversee and participate in the conception, writing and design of UWF marketing materials, Web and social media presence and visual identity; and ensure that the university's official messaging is represented in marketing materials through public relations efforts and strategy. Reporting directly to the Vice President for University Advancement, the Executive Director supervises a professional staff of 13 and oversees all budgets associated with the Office.
Established in 1963 with classes beginning in 1967, the University of West Florida’s main campus is located on a beautiful 1,642 acre campus of rolling hills and natural woodlands along the Escambia River in Pensacola. Additional campuses include the downtown historic village and several locations along the Emerald Coast including Fort Walton Beach and regional military bases. One of eleven public universities in Florida, it currently enrolls approximately 12,000 students and employs over 2,200 full- and part-time faculty and staff.
The university’s Marketing and Creative Services operation plays a vital and respected role at the University. The department recently conducted several successful visibility campaigns and will play a critical role in UWF’s future efforts to increase enrollment. The ideal candidate must demonstrate significant leadership experience, including the areas of planning, budget, and management of personnel; a successful track record of leading significant marketing campaigns; experience in marketing and public relations leadership in both higher education and commercial environments is highly preferred.
Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and six years of directly related professional experience; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and eight years of directly related professional experience.
Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in an appropriate field plus 8 years’ experience in an educational environment. Excellent writing and editing skills. Above average skills in use of publishing, creative and Web site software, such as Adobe Creative Suite. Experience and knowledge of management and supervision practices. Experience in developing and implementing data-driven marketing strategy.
The salary for this position is $80,000 - $85,000, and a comprehensive benefits package is available.
