The Department of Education and Language Acquisition is seeking to fill a position for a lecturer in education. This position does not convert to tenure track line.  After five years of quality performance, lecturers apply for a Certificate of Continuous Employment (CCE).

The candidate will be responsible for teaching undergraduate courses in the Education Program. 

The successful candidate will also be expected to advise and mentor students, supervise fieldwork, and participate in programmatic assessment. The candidate must have at least 3 years of college-level teaching experience in an urban setting. Preference will be given to a candidate who has experience in teaching public schools, arts, curriculum development, ePortfolio, assessment, student advisement, working knowledge of transfer, field observations, and program coordination. Evidence of superior teaching is expected. The candidate will also be expected to be actively involved in scholarly and professional development activities.

Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education, Secondary Education, or related fields (e.g., Reading Education, Curriculum and Instruction, Social Foundations of Education) is required. Preference will be given to a candidate who has a Master's in similar fields or has completed a substantial amount of coursework in a doctoral program.
