Job Description Summary:
Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization plus 3-4 years of relevant professional experience. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Desired Qualifications:

- 2 years work experience in a Registrar’s Office.

- Experience in an Admissions Office setting;processing & evaluating transfer credits.

Special Instructions to Applicants:

Job Duties
  • Processing and evaluation of transfer credit. Research course equivalencies through external institution and GW course catalogs to make a curricula-based determination of appropriate GW academic credit.

  • Serve as the primary liaison between the Registrar’s Office and academic department chairs/Dean’s Offices to determine course equivalencies when assigning GW academic credit.

  • Assist with the development and ongoing documentation of policies and procedures. Develop and maintain articulation database of transfer credit from frequent external institutions.

  • Train additional staff in the processing and evaluation of transfer credit. Serve as the primary day-to-day resource for questions and final determination of GW academic credit.

  • Processing and completion of transcript and certification requests. Answer Registrar’s Office phones and provide assistance to students, alumni, and faculty/staff.

  • Other duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning additional responsibilities that are logically related to the position.
