The Department of Physics of the Division of Science at CCNY invites applications for a faculty position at the Associate or Full Professor level in experimental nano/micro photonics and materials with focus on the development of light-confining structures, photonic nanomaterials and composites, and artificially engineered optical materials. The successful candidate will complement ongoing research of the condensed matter, photonics, biomedical optics, biophysics, and atomic physics faculty within the department and actively participate in CUNY-wide interdisciplinary resource centers. Duties will also include teaching a range of courses at the undergraduate and graduate level as well as mentoring doctoral students.


Ph.D. in a related field is required. The candidate should also have significant achievements in the field of interest and evidence of and commitment to excellence in teaching.
