NC Quality Improvement Manager
The Quality Improvement Manager, under the supervision of the Associate Director of Statewide Quality Improvement, will be responsible for overseeing the routine requirements of the various quality improvement initiatives in healthcare throughout the NC AHEC program. The Quality Improvement Manager will facilitate the work of the quality improvement teams employed by each of the AHECs to provide hands-on, in-practice improvement activities to teach and guide physician practices across North Carolina in the use of technology to deploy care management, practice re-design, and quality improvement. The focus for this position is on the support and management of key personnel in the nine AHEC regions. This includes the training of and on-going assistance to regional staff to support the work of the NC AHEC Quality Improvement Program and the NC Regional Extension Center. NC AHEC collaborates with Community Care of North Carolina, the NC Division of Public Health, the Carolinas Center for Medical Excellence, and others in these quality improvement efforts. The Quality Improvement Manager will collaborate and communicate with these organizations on the work being done throughout the AHEC program. Educational Requirements: Minimum of Masters degree in Public Health or similar degree Qualifications and Experience: A strong background in management and a minimum of three years experience in quality improvement. Knowledge of the Community Care Networks of North Carolina is important. Outstanding administrative skills including organizational planning and development. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated experience working as a team member. Ability to balance multiple tasks and work well under pressure. Applicants with excellent communication and networking skills with a proven track record for collaboration and utilization of public and private resources will be preferred. Experience with successful submission of grant applications.
