Lecturer - Dental Hygiene
The College of Science, Health & Engineering at Eastern Washington University invites applications for a Lecturer position in the Department of Dental Hygiene to begin September 2014.
The candidate selected for this position will be expected to offer interest and/or experience in online learning.
The Department of Dental Hygiene is housed in a state-of-the-art facility located at Eastern's Riverpoint Campus in Spokane, WA. The department offers the only BS in Dental Hygiene in the state of Washington, an entirely web-based MS in dental hygiene, and has three-degree completion programs around the state.
Eastern is a regional, comprehensive university that expects all faculty to demonstrate teaching excellence, professional growth, and service to the university, profession, and the community. Responsibilities will include teaching and curriculum development at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and active participation in scholarly and service activities.
Eastern is co-located on two campuses, Riverpoint in Spokane (home for our health sciences programs and our College of Business & Public Administration) in addition to our main campus in Cheney (20 minutes from Riverpoint), as well as additional teaching/learning centers located in other cities throughout Washington State. The Cheney-Spokane area is the heart of the Inland Northwest, with excellent restaurants, theater, shopping, skiing, hiking, lakes, a choice of living in a medium-sized city or a small town, and high quality schools and housing. Enrollment has reached over 11,000 students.

Successful candidate will be required to complete the Hepatitis B shot series starting within 1 month of hire, or provide documentation of prior immunization, or complete a waiver of inoculation.

Obtainment of a MS in Dental Hygiene or be currently enrolled in an MS in dental hygiene, or closely related discipline.
Washington State Dental Hygiene licensure or ability to obtain licensure by date of appointment (9/15/2014);
Demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching;
Candidate must demonstrate interest, ability and/or experience promoting cultural competency and/or diversity.
Earned doctorate; and/or
Minimum of two years of full-time clinical experience within the past five years (part time experience will qualify, but will be pro-rated to its full time equivalency)
