The mission of the School of Business and Leadership is to provide students with a unique and innovative business education that prepares them for success as leaders in a complex and dynamic global environment.  The School of Business and Leadership offers majors in general business, international business, and business leadership that are embedded in a strong liberal arts curriculum.  The schools interdisciplinary focus and ideal geographic location provide numerous opportunities for research and collaboration with faculty from other local universities, businesses, and non-profit organizations.  The Puget Sound region is home to large multinational companies and small innovative firms in sectors including aerospace, information and communication technology, healthcare, international logistics, and clean technology.

Appointment: Full-time, tenure-line position; begins Fall Term 2015

Responsibilities: 

  • The School of Business and Leadership is seeking candidates for a full time, tenure-line position in International / Global Business. Since International / Global Business is an interdisciplinary area, we will consider all disciplinary backgrounds in business; a strong preference will be given to candidates with a demonstrated ability to teach Introductory Financial Accounting.
  • Successful candidates will teach undergraduate courses in International / Global Business and Introductory Financial Accounting. Responsibilities will include the development of a senior research seminar in International / Global Business to be first offered in 2017-2018.
  • Standard teaching assignment is three courses per semester.
  • Other duties include continuation of professional development, advising students, and participation in departmental and university governance.

Qualifications: 

  • Ph.D. (ABD considered) with a demonstrated ability and/or experience in International / Global Business.
  • Candidates with a Ph.D. in appropriate related disciplines, such as Economics, International Affairs, and Political Science or multi-disciplinary areas will be considered.
  • For those candidates whose doctoral degrees are in non-business disciplines, extensive work experience in the area of International / Global Business and the possession of a Master in Business Administration, a Master in International Management, CPA, CMA or equivalent certification will be strongly preferred.
  • Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to teaching excellence.
  • A genuine commitment to undergraduate liberal arts education is essential.
