Purpose Oversees the personnel and operations of the Real Estate office as it sells, acquires, leases, develops and manages real estate assets in the inventory of endowment and trust properties, and to assist component institutions of the U. T. System with transactions involving real estate. Essential Functions Manage office administration activities such as hiring, training, staff meetings, and performance reviews. Participate in System Administration meetings and forums. Negotiate the sale, acquisition and lease of endowment, trust and campus real estate assets. Develops policies and procedures for management of assets. Manages leased endowment, trust and campus real estate assets. Coordinate the closing requirements for sale, purchase, and lease transactions. Reviews all transactions with real estate and component offices to verify values, purpose and compliance. Perform real estate financial and valuation analysis. Coordinate due diligence efforts in connection with real estate acquisitions. Facilitates planning for the enhancement of real estate asset value prior to sale or lease. Consult with appropriate component officials regarding assets held in trust for their respective institutions. Marginal/Incidental functions Other related functions as assigned. Required qualifications Bachelors Degree in Business and or Real Estate and 10 years of directly applicable experience in real consulting, appraisal, development, sales, acquisitions, commercial space leasing, or ground leasing. Preferred Qualifications Graduation from a law school accredited by the Association of American Law Schools and admission to the Texas Bar, or Master's degree in business, real estate, or a related field. Experience in higher education real estate management. Experience with Texas real estate. Working conditions May work around standard office conditions Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation Security sensitive; conviction verification conducted on applicant selected. The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length. This position has the option to elect the Optional Retirement Program (ORP) instead of TRS, subject to the position being 40 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
