Job Description: This Ast Dir 4 position will act as the Assistant Director for Protocol Development between the UFH Cancer Center (Gainesville), the UFHCC-Orlando Health, and the UF Proton Therapy Institute in Jacksonville. The incumbent will lead the clinical trial needs of the Joint Oncology Program (JOP) Research Core and manage various responsibilities related to the joint clinical trials operations between the partnering institutions. The incumbent will be responsible for the programmatic, strategic and operational management of the Protocol Development for the JOP. Manage the investigation, consideration, development and implementation of protocols that fit strategic needs in the research portfolio. Works with PI's in understanding their individual and collective clinical research desires and needs. Proactively evaluates margin and market of clinical trials. Enhances awareness of the UFHCC-JOP operations among investigators, industry and federal sponsors. Provides education to the community in all aspects of clinical trials; oversees regulatory and quality control of JOP biorepository.

Minimum Requirements: Master's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and four years of appropriate experience.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Excel, PowerPoint and Word. Required to work independently, interact professionally, interpret complex policies and procedures and possess effective technical writing and organizational skills. Management/ supervisory experience. Three years experience in oncology clinical trials, or research administration and management. Available for ocassionial overnight travel to meetings, conferences or off site locations as required.
