Position Summary: The design and multimedia assistant is responsible for executing, refining, correcting, and updating page layouts for complex projects with established graphic templates, including case statements and newsletters. Responsibilities include: working in collaboration with members of the editorial staff to choose photos; placing, styling, and adjusting text within templates; creating multiple rounds of proofs for review as text and photos are revised; and preparing files for printing. Duties also include creating and executing original graphic designs, often within parameters of established graphic identity systems, for a variety of projects related to donor outreach, such as invitations, programs, and custom pieces to be presented as gifts. Other functions include scanning photos and other images, helping to maintain the department's photo database, retrieving archived files and photos as requested by other staff members, working with printers to ensure that camera-ready files meet technical requirements, and troubleshooting as required.

Essential Qualifications: --One to three years of relevant experience --Excellent visual design skills; knowledge of printing processes --Knowledge of InDesign, Acrobat Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Microsoft Office --Excellent organizational and project management skills --Strong track record in proposing innovative solutions --Ability to exercise sound judgment --Strong written/oral/interpersonal communication skills The finalist will be required to pass a background check successfully.

Preferred Qualifications: --Knowledge of Cumulus, Adobe Desktop Publishing, HTML, Exact Target, Flash, Drupal and Dreamweaver --Experience in higher education --Knowledge of Princeton's mission and traditions
