Lone Star College - System Office Deputy General Counsel (#15704) SO Job Functions: Provides guidance and resources to staff for professional development in the Office of General Counsel. Promotes diversity and maintains a positive attitude in a demanding work environment Monitors processes, materials, and surroundings Schedules work and activities Organizes, plans, and prioritizes work activities for the Office of General Counsel Has accountability for all duties of subordinates Works collaboratively with internal and external contacts, utilizing excellent management, interpersonal and communication Negotiates and deals with vendors and outside organizations including public and private agencies and businesses Acts as entrepreneur in seeking new partnerships Develops and manages contracts and budgets and send them to the Chief Executive for final Approval. Maintains constant communication with Chief Executives Analyzes and interprets detailed information Acts as one of the highest positions in overall campus departments Responsible for other reasonable related duties as assigned. Required Qualifications: Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited American law school. At least 7 years of related work experience, at least 5 in a management or director level position. Must be licensed to practice in Texas, or if licensed in another state must be able to obtain admission to practice in Texas within one year. Salary: Hiring Salary is $116,662 Work Schedule & Conditions: PC workstation running on a LAN in a Microsoft Windows environment, calculator, phone and other general office equipment. Internal and external contacts as needed to carry out the functions of the position. Work is performed in a climate-controlled office with minimal exposure to safety hazards.
