Oversees processing and evaluation of applications for admission to the University; assures that admissions requirements are met; ensures security of student information. Oversees Admissions Office operations, use of Banner system in applications processing, and communications to applicants; supervises the implementation and monitoring of admissions processing systems. Responsibilities include all components related to the processing of applications for new students; ensures conformity with all federal, state, University System of Georgia Board of Regents, and Savannah State University policies and regulations related to admission of students. Analyzes application data and prepares internal and external reports as required. Supervises the Operations sub-unit and admission processing staff; serves as residency classification administrator; monitors departmental compliance with all standards, requirements and admissions guidelines; performs other related duties as assigned. This position reports to the Assistant Vice President of Academic Affairs for Enrollment Services/Director of Admissions. Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience. Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred. At least 3 years of supervisory experience in an Admissions Office; proven ability to manage and lead staff, inspire teamwork and achieve established goals; ability to interact effectively with diverse student populations; knowledge of Microsoft Office applications; extensive experience in database management and working with the Banner Enterprise System.
