Duties: Under a large broad scope radiation safety license perform surveys with portable and laboratory instruments; audit laboratory records to ensure regulatory and license compliance;calibrate instruments: maintain sampling and monitoring equipment; collect and process radioactive waste; perform compliance testing of energized equipment, respond to spill incidents (24 hour on call) and answer questions by radiation safety workers; distribute radioactive materials ;perform other duties as needed to support radiation safety program;provide support to University's biosafety and chemical Safety programs

Qualifications: Tech A; BA/BS degree In science or equivalent required or equivalent combination of education and experience;experience handling radioactive materials land operating energized equipment
Tech B: BA/BS in science or equivalent required plus 1-2 years related experience or equivalent combination of education and ; experience handling radioactive materials and operating energized equipment preferred. Both positions require good computer and electronic skills ;must be able to clearly communicate with a diverse cross-section of laboratory personnel; Ability to carry heavy material and equipment (40 to 60 pounds). Valid driver's license required.
