Job Summary The Director of Education Abroad (EA) within the Office of International Education (OIE) leads university-wide efforts in education abroad. He/she is responsible for articulating a strategic vision for UGA's education abroad efforts that advance the internationalization goals of the University of Georgia. The Director provides strong leadership and management of the Education Abroad office which comprises of four education abroad advisors and one education abroad staff liaison. The EA Director reports directly to the Associate Provost for International Education and is part of the AP's senior team. This is a highly visible leadership position on the UGA campus and beyond. The successful candidate will be adept at initiating, developing, and sustaining strong positive relations with faculty, deans, and senior administrators across campus. UGA is amongst the leading institutions nationally in terms of study abroad participation and the director is expected to stay abreast of the latest developments in education abroad and bring best practices to UGA.

Minimum Qualifications Master's degree required, plus minimum five years work experience in international education; Ph.D. plus work experience preferred Overseas living experience Proven ability to work with university staff and faculty in an effective, collegial manner; ability to coordinate among many university colleges and/or units. Strong communication and public speaking skills. Experience with implementation of study abroad risk management procedures preferred. Fluency in a foreign language preferred Prior supervisory roles preferred Strong computer skills a plus.
