Job Description Summary:

Manage and direct marketing, communications, and public relations by coordinating at the strategic and tactical levels with all university departments for the Department of Admissions.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in business or marketing.



Experience in marketing, management, and IT.



Working knowledge of computer technology and experience with website development.



Excellent writing and communication skills.



Experience in creating and writing marketing materials.



The ability to manage and prioritize a number of competing projects and deadlines on an on-going basis.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree.



Minimum two years experience in Admissions.



Prior Higher Education marketing experience.

Essential Duties Summary :

Provide leadership and vision for the Colleges strategic and integrated marketing and communications functions.



Manage and direct the marketing, communications and coordinate with public relations staff at the strategic and tactical levels with all University departments.



Develop and execute a comprehensive, long-term and proactive college-wide communications, marketing, branding and outreach strategy consistent with the strategic goals, plans, and aspirations of the College.



Oversee all undergraduate admissions communication for the university including recruitment mailing, admission letters, call center, Admissions website development, as well as other social media.



Compose marketing materials to attract prospective students, admitted students, graduate/adult and enrolled students through various technologies, media platforms, and campus-wide events.



Make recommendations for continuous improvement, waste-eliminating, and ad hoc projects for the unit to better serve prospective students and applicants (e.g. email campaigns to enrollment yield projects).



Assist the Director to determine communication priorities, policies, and procedures.



Assist with planning for events such as Pirate Preview, Navigate Orientation, other recruitment events, and other public relation events. Some travel for recruitment will be required as well as some weekend work.



Serve as the departmental lead and work to create successful collaborative efforts with Admissions, Marketing, IT Services, and other campus offices in developing materials for new students, creating more user-friendly processes for prospective students and Admissions staff, as well as creating effective marketing and communication strategies to utilize new technologies.



Participate in the Marketing Task Force, created by Armstrong’s President, to create and implement strategic marketing recommendations to increase enrollment.



Champion various critical and strategic initiatives to benefit Admissions, Armstrong, the University System of Georgia, and the Savannah community.



The ability to prioritize a number of competing projects and deadlines on an on-going basis.



Manage and develop a constituent information database for marketing and research.



Run tracking reports for analysis on ROI for all events.



Run admission enrollment reports for new student tracking.



Develops strategy and execution for web site revisions, including content management systems, navigation and design.



Other duties as assigned by the Director of Admissions.
