GENERAL DUTIES

Provides administrative support as a confidential assistant to a Campus or University Executive.

- Coordinates office operations such as meetings, communications, events, and reports

- Maintains extensive files and records for the unit 

- Maintains accurate calendars, schedules, and key dates

- Collects data for, prepares, and distributes reports and presentations using appropriate technology; runs basic system queries and reports

- Updates office databases, lists, and files to ensure completeness and accuracy; maintains current information on department web site(s), manuals, and other materials

- Provides clear communications on the Executive's behalf both within and outside the unit

- Performs related duties as assigned.

CAMPUS SPECIFIC INFORMATION

In support of the College mission, strategic goals and plans, Queens College seeks to fill one Executive Coordinator vacancy.

Reporting directly to the Vice President for Finance and Administration, the Executive Coordinator performs administrative tasks as assigned.

Specific duties include but are not limited to the following:
- Coordinate interdepartmental and other priority projects on behalf of the Vice President.
- Provide administrative assistance to all Finance & Administration managers to ensure timely implementation of departmental initiatives.
- Recommend and implement new technologies to improve productivity within the division and throughout Queens College.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree required.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

- Two years of recent professional experience in an urban College or University environment preferred
- One or more years of professional experience working with a College or University Executive preferred
- One or more years of professional experience in a technology department in an urban College or University setting preferred
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously with multiple priorities and deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to meet customer needs; demonstrated organization skills; detail oriented and ability to multi task
- Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills
- Proficient knowledge of MS Office Products such as Word, Excel, and Power Point
- Knowledge of PeopleSoft/Oracle information systems in a higher education or government environment
- Excellent written, verbal, analytical, and interpersonal communication skills

COMPENSATION

$35,576 - $69,846; commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Employees are also offered pension and Tax-Deferred Savings Plans.  Part-time employees must meet a weekly or semester work hour criteria to be eligible for health benefits. Health benefits are also extended to retirees who meet the eligibility criteria.
