Job Summary UGA Extension was founded in 1914 to take research-based agricultural information to the people of Georgia. County agents and specialists throughout the state share information on issues like water quality, profitability in agribusiness, family wellness and life skills. Macon County is fourth in Georgia in Total Grower Value at $195 Million as well as fourth in the state in total livestock and aquaculture. It is one of the most agriculturally diverse counties with traditional row crops, dairy, forages, other livestock, peaches, and pecans. Growers make variety and production decisions based upon unbiased research information provided by this position. This position serves as a UGA Public Service Faculty Member and a member of the Macon County Extension Staff ( and is under the direction and leadership of the Southwest District Extension Director. Starting Salary & Benefits: $40,400/year with a Master's Degree (Bachelor's $34,500 minimum) in appropriate subject area as well as an excellent benefits package is available as a faculty member of the University of Georgia.

Minimum Qualifications A Master's degree in a related area is strongly preferred (a Bachelor's degree in an applicable area will be considered). Successful experience in program development and management, demonstrated communication ability as well as skills in leadership and management
