The vice president of enrollment, marketing and communications reports to the president, serves as a member of the JCC President’s Council, provides leadership for college-wide enrollment, marketing and communications efforts, establishes and protects a fully integrated institutional image plan, and manages all media affairs. The vice president engages an entrepreneurial approach to all endeavors, and models a collaborative and innovative spirit in pursuing college goals in concert with others. Among the key expectations for this vice president is the ability to develop and sustain working partnerships across areas within the college, and with various constituent groups external to the college. • Provides leadership for an integrated approach to enrollment marketing and recruitment efforts, and for encouraging marketing linkages with and among academic affairs, student development, continuing education, the JCC foundation, and other areas of the college which impact recruitment of students. • Provides direct leadership for promotional and branding efforts which focus on identification and penetration of target markets using an array of activities including direct outreach, electronic media, and marketing communications. • Serves as primary spokesperson for the college, managing all media relations. • Direct oversight of the offices of admissions, student recruitment, web/media services, community relations, and early awareness/college access programs. • Admissions o Oversees the processes, policies, systems, technology, and customer service models that facilitate admission and matriculation of students into the college. • Student Recruitment o Develops and implements strategic recruitment plans for various target audiences and college locations which take into account and integrate product, price, place, and promotion. • Marketing/Public Relations o Serves as the college spokesperson to media outlets. o Oversees all public relations activities, including publications, mass media, social and other web media, including the college website. o Manages all fiscal and budgetary aspects of marketing and media relations. o Provides marketing support to other areas of the college. o Shapes and develops the college image through branding activities, public relations activities and other mechanisms which create positive top of mind awareness of the college and which support the college’s vision to become the premier provider of education for the region. • Collaborative Efforts o Serves on/leads college committees and other initiatives that have a focus on building enrollments. o Creates partnerships with internal college constituents across functional areas to develop integrated approaches to recruitment and marketing. Develops external partnerships that support recruitment efforts. • Division budget development and oversight. • Regular travel between the Cattaraugus County Campus, Jamestown Campus, and Warren Pennsylvania and North County Extension Centers is expected. • Providing leadership and coordination for a number of cross-functional teams, task forces, or committees, which are central to the college’s effort to continually increase quality by maintaining a state of ongoing improvement. • Regular attendance. Qualifications: Required: Master’s degree and 5 years of progressively responsible leadership in higher education; demonstrated experience in: developing and managing media relations, recruitment of students and leadership in administration and supervision in the area of enrollment growth; data analysis and reporting. Excellent oral, written, interpersonal and leadership skills; analytical skills to identify needs, develop and improve services and evaluate best practices; ability to work effectively with students, parents, faculty, administrators, staff, alumni and the general public; and ability to develop and interpret policy statements. Demonstrated success in teamwork and skills related to motivating and working with others at all levels of a complex organization. Preferred: Community college experience.
