Under the general supervision of the Dean, the incumbent is responsible for the administration of the College of Engineering (CoE) websites and associated web applications. Specific duties include utilizing a variety of software engineering techniques and current web technologies; administrating all phases of the application development starting with a conceptual model through functional and detailed design to implementation, debugging, deployment and maintenance of the software solutions; and developing and implementing web training requirements and resources for web users and content managers. In depth knowledge of software engineering, agile programming techniques, object oriented program design and implementation, database design and implementation are required in order to create reusable robust software solutions for the CoE websites. A high level of technical competence with website development tools, languages, and database applications. Familiarity with development tools such as Dreamweaver and Visio; languages such as Cold Fusion, C++ or Java and SQL, Web technologies such as XHTML, cascading style sheets, and JavaScript; database applications such as Oracle and Access. Extensive knowledge in the area of useable interface design and accessible website design including the principles of useable interface design and WCAG 1.0 guidelines; Section 508 guidelines; and the POUR principles. Excellent oral and written communication skills including the ability to write clear and concise technical documents and training documents. Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community. Ability to follow all university policies, procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety, civility, information security, and non-discrimination policies and procedures. Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each and every student, and assist in achieving the university's commitment to a "vision of excellence." Equivalent to a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Educational Technology, Communications, or related technical field and two years of related experience required. Full-time, temporary position through February 28, 2016 with no permanent status granted. Temporary assignments may expire prior to the ending date. The salary range for this classification is $4,372.00 to $8,949.00 per month. Starting salary may be set as high as $5,516.00 per month based on experience.
