HEALTH SYSTEMS ANALYST PROGRAMMER I - MEDICAL SCHOOL PEDIATRICS
 
Job Summary
 
Under general supervision, assists in the analysis of specific operational processes and information generation or utilization. Develop, test, implement and support portions of computer-based information systems as assigned, using independent judgment. Assist in the design, coding, benchmark testing, debugging, and documentation of application programs. Applications generally deal with original program development of support of locally developed programs. Competent to work on most phases of database and spreadsheet development, but requires instruction and guidance in other phases.
 
Skills
 
This position will actively support the transition of current systems and reporting to a new platform.  Experience in any of the following areas to support past and future systems is preferred:
  • Databases: Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Access 2010, Microsoft Access 2003
  • Spreadsheets: Microsoft Excel 2010
  • Development: Microsoft .NET, Visual Studio
  • Programming Languages: C#, Visual Basic for Applications
  • Business Application Tools: Microsoft Office 2010 and 2003, Business Objects XI
  • Microsoft SQL Reporting Services  and Web Application Development
Key Functions and Expected Performances
 
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:
 

1.  Develop or modify complex databases
     a.  Produce clearly written, logical code with minimal error
     b.  Adhere to internal database installation/backup standard, sometimes with assistance
     c.  Adhere to quality and programming standards
     d.  Routine data updates of database and spreadsheet applications

 

2. Ensure appropriate documentation for all development and modification

     a.  Provides full documentation of code, to include higher-level block diagrams, data field definitions and metadata

 

3. Ensure the integrity and security of institutional data

     a.  Follow change management procedures

     b.  Adhere to confidentiality and security policies and procedures

     c.  Test and verify accuracy of data

     d.  Provides adequate security through identification of user types in conjunction with the user department

     e.  Performs design reviews and technical reviews when appropriate

 

4. Provide technical assistance to users

     a.  Provide support for problem determination and resolution

     b.  Provide routine solutions to working within the constraints of environment

     c.  Communicate effectively and collaboratively with other workers and customers

     d.  Provide on-call support during and after business hours.



Basic Qualifications


This position requires a Bachelor's degree.
