The Software Developer positions are an integral part of the VCSA Technology Services department and will perform software development and technical design for 30+ web, mobile, and desktop applications. Working closely with the team of software developers, database architects and project managers, this position will design, build, manage and maintain department applications. This recruitment is for 2 positions.

Final candidates may be required to complete a programming assessment.

Minimum Requirements:
1.4+ years experience with object oriented software design and developing complex applications using C# or Java and the related ability to show advanced understanding of programming techniques and patterns. This will include creative, thoughtful, and disciplined technical problem solving practices.
2.Experience with a range of web programming languages and frameworks, including ASP.NET, VB.NET and/or C# / Java, PHP, Ruby on Rails, Python / Django, HTML, CSS, etc.
3.Experience writing secure code, including the ability to identify and address common software security vulnerabilities.
4.Demonstrated knowledge and hands-on experience leading to competency with enterprise application development tools and software used to support application development and deployment including Visual Studio and / or Eclipse, unit testing tools (NUnit, XUnit), build and build automation (TeamCity, CruiseControl), source control, defect tracking and versioning tools.
5.Experience with relational (MS SQL, MySQL, Oracle) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB, RavenDB, CouchDB).
6.Excellent work and attendance habits, including the ability to plan work and achieve goals.
7.The ability to work under pressure, including changing priorities and limited or scarce resources.
8.Skill in evaluating and analyzing end user software computing problems, concepts or knowledge of past discrepancies, trends, and relationships, and applying the concepts appropriately. This will include skill in evaluating the likely success of an idea in relation to the demands of the situation.
9.The ability to communicate and write/document effectively, especially in work cases, FAQs, Wiki and e-mail.
10.Education and/or experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree in a related field.

Preferred Qualifications:
1.Demonstrated experience developing for cloud-based platforms including Microsoft Azure and Amazon AWS.
2.Demonstrated experience developing software for mobile and tablet platforms including IOS, Android, and Windows Mobile.
3.Certifications in one or more of the following areas: PMP, CISSP, Microsoft Professional, ITIL or other enterprise IT certification.
4.Ability to invite information, constructive criticism, and cooperation from others.
5.Skill in setting priorities that accurately reflect the relative importance of job responsibilities.
6.2+ years with information security, preferably HIPAA, PCI or other regulated environment. Understanding of data privacy issues related to FERPA, HIPAA, CMIA and/or PCI.
7.Knowledge of networking and web server systems, concepts and protocols, including IIS, Apache, Tomcat, TCP/IP, and HTTPS.
8.Demonstrated skill in process adherence and compliance programs.
9.Skill in reading and understanding scientific and technical documents such as scientific publications, legislative and regulatory documents, and complex instructional procedures.
10.Skill to independently compose letters, memos, reports, and other written communication materials, for a variety of audiences, using correct spelling, grammar, punctuation, composition, text editing, and proofreading skills.
