Within a centralized financial aid services environment, the Financial Aid Specialist evaluates, approves, and awards financial aid to students in accordance with federal, state and University regulations, policies and operating guidelines.


Essential duties and responsibilities of this position include:


  • Process of verification, professional judgment, file review and Title IV, as well as, institutional packaging
  • Responsible for verifying ISIR accuracy
  • Accurately package, track and monitor financial aid awards to ensure funds are received on a timely basis
  • Collaborate with SNHU’s One Stop to ensure students correct missing or inaccurate information
  • Assess needs to advise students and parents, as appropriate, regarding financial aid options, processes and requirements
  • Adhere to all Federal and State Financial Aid Guidelines
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and changing environment, where multiple priorities need to be effectively managed, while maintaining composure and flexibility
  • Apply critical thinking to all activities, provide guidance on areas to improve processes


The successful applicant must have:


  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 1 to 2+ years’ experience within a financial aid office
  • Demonstrated analytical skills with an unwavering attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Experience with a Student Information System (SIS), Ellucian Colleague preferred
  • Proficiency with MS Office products
