FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

The Department of Film at Brooklyn College of The City University of New York invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Screenwriting.

The successful candidate will be expected to teach five courses a year (although pre-tenured faculty receive New Faculty Release Time to pursue academic research), advise undergraduate students in the screenwriting concentration of the Film major, and contribute to the development of the Department's new M.F.A program in Cinema Arts. All appointments are subject to financial availability.

QUALIFICATIONS

An M.F.A. in screenwriting or appropriate terminal degree in a related discipline such as film production or creative writing; a recognized body of published or produced work in the field of screenwriting; and recent college-level teaching experience. Experience with both undergraduate and graduate curriculum development is a plus, but not mandatory. A commitment to teaching at a public, urban institution that serves a highly diverse student body is essential.

COMPENSATION

$61,903 - $74,133; Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
