Date: March 6, 2014 TITLE OF POSITION/RANK: Vice President and Dean of Continuing Education and Workforce Development DIVISION/DEPARTMENT: The Division of Continuing Education and Workforce Development RESPONSIBILITIES: Reporting to the President of the College, the VP and Dean of Continuing Education and Workforce Development: •Provides dynamic leadership in developing and implementing programs, initiatives, and activities that serve the educational and training needs of Westchester County constituencies, including individuals across the life span, businesses, public agencies, not-for-profits, and unions in collaboration with the College community. •Provides leadership for the Division staff, programs, and centers, including workforce development programs, non-credit programs that address English language skill acquisition and learning and enrichment across the lifespan, administration of the extension and operational centers of the Division, administration of credit-based initiatives, and staff and leadership development across the Division. •Advances the initiatives and programs of the Division of Continuing Education and Workforce Development and promotes their integration into the college; is accountable for achievement of the College’s goals and objectives within the scope of Continuing Education and Workforce Development; and convenes and facilitates groups to achieve the College’s mission and goals. •Establishes communication and partnerships with external stakeholders to advance the priorities for workforce education and economic development. Provides leadership for liaison with business, industry, public agencies, and community interest groups. Effectively partners with other workforce and economic development providers including the Workforce Investment Board, municipalities, and regional economic development organizations. •Advances and advocates for the Division’s activities and programs in appropriate internal governance structures and leadership bodies and with external entities, works in collaboration with all members of the College community, serves as requested on college shared governance structures and committees, and works with senior leadership to advance the strategic mission and goals of the College. •Manages the fiscal operations of the Division, including the Division’s operating and capital budgets, and the Division’s participation in federal, State, and local funding opportunities that benefit the College and provide support for targeted programs and students; and also provides leadership for Division personnel operations including conflict resolution, compliance, staff management and advancement. •Advises and counsels Division Staff and other members of the College community, when appropriate, in program development and community outreach efforts. QUALIFICATIONS: The successful candidate must possess a Master's Degree in Educational Administration, Adult Education, or a related field, and have eight years of senior management experience, four of which must be in higher education. Teaching and workforce development experience preferred. POSITION EFFECTIVE: It is expected that the successful candidate will be selected by June 1st with an effective start date of July 7, 2014. SALARY & BENEFITS: The minimum starting salary is $116,239 plus a competitive benefits package.
