Duties: WRDS is hiring a Chief Product Officer, who will drive WRDS' growth strategy and execution. Most companies today still operate with responsibilities for product development and product lifecycle management dispersed across leadership positions in engineering, marketing, procurement and more. This person will unify WRDS' approach to products and look at existing and potential WRDS products from an end-to-end perspective: someone who can simultaneously work to envision new products and at the same time be realistic in terms of execution. The position will report directly to the Managing Director of WRDS and will be responsible for leading the next phase of product development and product innovation by building and managing a highly effective product visualization and development organization.

Qualifications: A bachelor's degree or higher and over 6-10 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Master's degree strongly preferred. Seven to ten years of experience at a web/internet company or equivalent organization.
*Proven innovative leader of a software product management team in a dynamic SaaS organization.
*Excellent business judgment, team management and communication and interpersonal skills that result in the ability to work effectively and efficiently within the leadership team and with a sophisticated customer base and business partners.
*Hands-on software product management experience. Experience taking product through multiple lifecycles.
*Ability to think strategically, with proven leadership ability.
*Software engineer or software UX designer experience is a plus.
*Advanced university degree in the field of computer science, business administration, or another rigorous discipline.
*Strong familiarity with the difficulties of innovation based software development (timing and deliverables). Experience selling technology to Universities and or students a plus.
*Experience building teams, with the ability to set and manage team priorities judiciously.
*Significant experience in structuring, negotiating and drafting complex commercial agreements, such as licensing, Internet-related and complex technology/technology services agreements.
*Excellent organizational skills, in particular the ability to prioritize and build effective working relationships.
*First class communications skills, both written and verbal, and ability to build relationships and collaborate with a variety of personalities and styles, including experience dealing with senior management and clients.
*Ability to articulate ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.
*Strong ability to work well independently, coupled with strong interpersonal skills, resourcefulness and an ability to participate in a highly collaborative team environment.
