Job Description Summary:
Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization plus four years of relevant professional experience. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Bachelor's degree in related field of study preferred, e.g. education, counseling, policy analysis, human development, organizational or educational leadership, communications;
2 years of fundraising experience, preferably in higher education.
Willingness to travel 50-60% of time, entrepreneurial self-starter with strong verbal and written communication skills.
Creative and strategic mindset highly valued.
Special Instructions to Applicants:
Manages a portfolio of 150-200 prospects; travels to make 125-150 in-person visits to qualify, cultivate, and solicit annual and major gifts from alumni and friends.
Stewards gifts/commitments made to GSEHD via phone, correspondence, event interaction, and in-person visits.
Develops strategies to engage prospects in the life of the school in collaboration with Alumni Relations colleagues, faculty, staff and other key GW constituents.
Analyzes alumni data to identify new prospects deemed speculative until qualified via in-person visit. Follows leads from Executive Director, planned giving colleagues, advisory council members and other viable sources.
Oversees data management for prospect pool to ensure the accurate capture of prospect tracking, stage progression, contact reports, proposals, philanthropic capacity/inclination and biographical data into Advance. Uses various reporting tools to monitor prospect data. Expected to be an active partner within prospect tracking and management.
