Position Information:
UC Riverside Student Support Services TRiO Scholars program is seeking a Part-Time Student Success Coordinator. The Student Support Services TRiO Scholars program is a federally funded grant that serves over 140 students offering a wide range of services aimed at increasing the success rate of eligible first-generation, low-income students and/or students with disabilities each year at the University of California Riverside. SSS TRiO Scholars provides holistic and comprehensive advising and instructional support, in order to help undergraduate students be successful at and graduate from the University of California Riverside. Reporting to the Director of Student Support Services TRIO Scholars you will provide a wide range of academic support and counseling activities, in the areas of leadership, cultural enrichment and academic development designed to help students achieve their educational and career goals. Duties include coordinating bi-quarterly/quarterly advising/counseling sessions/ lectures/presentations/interacting learning experiences/smaller group workshops/activities to include planning, logistical support, marketing, tracking participation, and assessment while serving as an educational mentor and advocate. This is a part-time position with an end date of August 31, 2015 with a possibility to be extended contingent upon contract funding availability.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in a related field; or an equivalent combination of college education and experience.

Demonstrated ability working with underrepresented, low income, and/or first generation students.

Must be reliable/self-disciplined, able to work independently, excellent communication skills (written and verbal), accurate in clerical tasks, comfortable and professional when dealing with students clients on the phone, in person and by e-mail.

Professional and trustworthy in handling confidential material such as student identification numbers, social security numbers, etc.

Must have working knowledge of Microsoft office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and Internet Explorer.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience developing and coordinating tutoring and counseling activities in the academic/career planning area for both parents and students.

Ability to supervise student staff.

Experience coordinating programs focused on leadership development, cultural enrichment, career exploration, and financial literacy.
