POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Department of Environmental Engineering and Earth Sciences invites applications for a tenure-track position in environmental engineering and science. The successful candidate is expected to develop an active, competitive, and externally funded research program along with a distinguished record of creative research and scholarship. A variety of research specializations will be considered, including water or waste-water treatment, hazardous waste remediation, environmental applications and risks associated with nanotechnology, air quality, fate and transport of emerging contaminants, quantitative analysis of global scale environmental problems, industrial ecology, systems engineering, life cycle assessment, environmentally stable energy processes, green engineering, probabilistic risk assessment, radio-ecology or similar fields. The candidate will advise M.S. and Ph.D. students in his or her specialty area. Excellent opportunities exist for collaboration with colleagues in the Department of Environmental Engineering and Earth Sciences and other academic areas on campus. The successful candidate is also expected to teach courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and to provide support for our rapidly growing undergraduate degree in Environmental Engineering. Candidates should demonstrate potential for high-quality, effective teaching and mentoring.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Candidates must hold a PhD in environmental engineering, environmental science, or a closely related discipline. Professional license or the ability to obtain a PE is desirable.
