As a key player within the Jack Welch Management Institute's (JWMI) admissions team, the Admissions Officer will work onsite in Herndon, VA in our fast-paced, goal-oriented online admissions office to handle all aspects of student recruitment and grow enrollment for a premiere online executive education program, personally designed by Jack Welch. Senior Admissions Officers mentor other Admissions officers, and work with management to refine, improve and implement business processes. Senior Admissions Officers are responsible for handling all aspects of the student recruitment efforts in a fast-paced, results and compliance-driven environment. This position is responsible for helping individuals interested in attending JWMI enroll in the University by responding to inquiries, interviewing prospective students and, walking students through the entire application and enrollment process. • Provide lateral leadership to the admissions team as an expert and proven practitioner • Develop resources and tools to enhance the execution of the admissions team • Work with leadership to create, maintain and implement best practices in all admissions practices • Coach Admissions Officers in a collaborative environment • Proactively respond to new student inquiries via phone and email • Interview prospective students to determine their backgrounds, goals, and objectives • Educate prospective students on the benefits of the Jack Welch Management Institute’s high-quality academic programs • Assist students with the application process and partner with other departments in the University to finalize enrollments • Consistently achieve quarterly performance objectives • Follow-up with students to help them feel successful and provide ongoing encouragement and support • Provide additional enrollment support and follow up to Admission officers. • Bachelor’s degree/ Master’s preferred • At least 5 years of experience in college level recruitment, advising, consulting or equivalent • Experience in management or team lead positions is preferred • Ability to coach and mentor other team members • Exceptional interpersonal communication skills - on the phone, over email, and in person • Proven experience in Customer Service, Sales, Call Center or Admissions environments • Strong organizational skills and determination to manage details • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, etc.) • A passion for Jack Welch's management principles • A passion for higher education • A commitment to business ethics and compliance with regulatory rules • Exhibits sound judgment in making decisions • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and rigorous environment • Must have strong computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) • Must be able to travel 10% of time • Must be able to lift 5 lbs. • Typical office setting. Fast paced and rigorous environment Work Hours: 9-6pm Mon/Tues/Fri and 11-8pm Wed/Thurs Or 11-8 Mon/Tues/Fri and 9-6pm Wed/Thurs/Fri • Mobility within the office including movement from floor to floor • Ability to travel via plane, car, and metro for relevant events • Access information using a computer • Effectively communicate, both up and down the management chain • Effectively cope with stressful situations • Strong mental acuity
