Primary focus of position is the direction and coordination of residents, Resident Assistant staff development, student development activities, and services with an emphasis on residence education.  Provide supervision and guidance to student staff, including Assistant Area Coordinators and indirect supervision of RAs on a daily basis, as needed, with regard to student development and intervention strategies.  Provide counseling or other direct service where necessary for students individual and group issues, problems or concerns.   Meet weekly with Assistant Area Coordinator(s) to provide guidance, assess needs and evaluate Resident Assistants, and students.  Provide guidance and supervision to Assistant Area Coordinator(s)  and Resident Assistants with regard to job performance.

Provide counseling, guidance or other service regarding specific problem situations, such as roommate conflicts, individual student concerns etc.  Provide direct, informal counseling to students with personal concerns where appropriate. Develop and carry out intervention strategies for various student needs. Act as a referral agent for areas of concern outside of housing, such as academics, counseling center, financial aid. Develop and maintain RA Electronic forms and other social media.  Evaluate Assistant Area Coordinator(s)  formally each semester, coordinate 1-to-1 meeting times for informal evaluations, problem solving and guidance. Oversee and implement the evaluation process of all RAs. Develop strategies and concepts that promote staff eam spirit  and effective work relationships. Plan and implement regular staff development activities.

Supervise student staff participation in Housing administrative processes such as semester check-in and check-out, room inspections, preview days, surveys etc.

Participate in the overall administration of the campus housing program.  Work cooperatively with the other Housing and Residence Life Team Members to set and maintain quality standards for the total residential environment, with major emphasis on Living-Learning concepts and promoting student success through positive residential experiences. Participate in the formulation and implementation of departmental policies and procedures.   Represent the Department of Housing and Residence Life on various university and Prescott area committees. Participate in the planning and coordination of campus events such as Accepted Student Preview Day, Open House etc.  Participate in the Department of Housing and Residence Life's Professional on Duty rotation.  Support and guidance for departmental activities such as check--, room selection, etc.  Assist the  with housing management through Odyssey program.  Assist in the billing process for students accounts;  Participate in fire drills;  Parental phone calls;  Clery Reporting requirements;  Title IX Reporting requirements;   Directly supervises 3 Assistant Area Coordinators and indirectly 20-24 Resident Assistants.
