Compliance Director and Title IX/Clery Act Coordinator
The Ohio State University, one of the nation’s leading public universities, is seeking applications for the position of Compliance Director and Title IX/Clery Act Coordinator in the Office of University Compliance and Integrity. With the vision of supporting a university philosophy that values compliance and integrity, the Compliance Director and Title IX/Clery Act Coordinator will support a centralized compliance function that will be a leading model in higher education. Reporting to the Assistant Vice President of Compliance Operations and Investigations, the Compliance Director is responsible for coordinating and monitoring Title IX and Clery Act compliance efforts across the university. The Compliance Director reviews and makes recommendations regarding university policies to ensure Title IX and Clery Act compliance; develops and delivers related training; manages Ohio State’s Title IX website; participates in various university committees; prepares annual statistical reports and provides updates, interpretation, guidance, and recommendations to the Assistant Vice President of Compliance Operations and Investigations, the Vice President and Chief Compliance Officer, and other university stakeholders. The Compliance Director collaborates with various offices and areas of campus to ensure compliance with Title IX and the Clery Act. For more information about the University’s Title IX program, please visit: http://titleix.osu.edu For more information about the University’s compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act, as amended by the Higher Education Opportunity Act, please visit: http://www.ps.ohio-state.edu/campus_safety/Annual_Security_Fire_Safety_Report.pdf Duties and Responsibilities: • Serve as the principle coordinator for university policies, procedures, and programs relating to compliance with Title IX, including monitoring Title IX investigations. • Coordinate university main campus and regional campus reporting, documentation, policies, and procedures in compliance with the Clery Act. • Establish and document training and educational programs for the university community related to compliance with Title IX and the Clery Act. • Collaborate with local police, university police, and other university departments and offices to create and maintain crime and fire incident reports as required under Title IX and the Clery Act. • Collaborate with university departments to ensure compliance with the emergency notification requirements of the Clery Act. Required Qualifications: • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent. • Proven experience with Title IX and Clery Act issues; strong organizational and interpersonal skills; experience facilitating effective teamwork; detail-oriented and able to provide a high level of professional interaction with all levels of diverse stakeholders throughout the university; demonstrated ability to maintain confidential information and exercise sound and objective judgment; excellent written and oral communication skills. • Requires successful completion of a background check. Desired Qualifications: • Experience coordinating Title IX and Clery Act efforts for a university campus; experience in project management and training diverse audiences on complex subject matter; involvement with complaint resolution, grievances, and investigations. • Juris Doctor or other relevant graduate education preferred.
