The Office of Financial Aid is currently recruiting for a Financial Aid Analyst – Systems and Data Management. This position falls under the purview of the Enrollment Management division, which is under new leadership. As a member of the Data team, this individual participates in strategic initiatives to support enrollment goals. S/he recommends and functionally implements technology reporting and analysis to improve the overall effectiveness and efficiency of the financial aid office business processes, as well as business process and service integration among all units using People Soft. This position helps ensure accurate and timely generation of financial aid data and analyses for multiple constituencies. This position helps to enables the Office of Financial Aid to maximize current available computer resources and assist with the planning for new resources. The position helps assures that Information Systems efforts align with departmental objectives. Related to Financial Aid Software System, responsible for: 1. Collection of data to assist in the development of technology plans, strategies; involving a close working relationship with Assistant/Associate Directors/Directors and various departments. 2. Preparation of meaningful reports for business management and assessment 3. Assist in the planning and implementation of systems related projects- e.g. Maintenance of process set-up criteria tables, system security maintenance; other system initiatives as needed 4. Support customer satisfaction through monitoring the delivery of ongoing information services. 5. Training and related written documentation development for internal and departmental users 6. Responding to student questions regarding the use of the university's student self-help website 7. People Soft queries/reports creation and testing; testing processes for best solutions; communicating software problems to IT and PeopleSoft as appropriate. 8. Preparation of new task designs and specifications for the technical staff. The Financial Aid Analyst will be a liaison to Information Technology Services (ITS); Institutional Research (IR); Oracle (PeopleSoft) /PeopleSoft user group (HEUG); Dept. of Ed Common Origination & Disbursement – COD. This position provides assistance with special projects and other tasks as requested by the Associate Dean, Directors, etc. to meet the requirements of the office. Minimum Qualifications: • Three years of experience in planning and applying information technology to one or more business functions. • Bachelor's degree with experience in planning and applying information technology to one or more business functions. • A working knowledge and understanding of financial aid, both federal and institutional, is required. • Excellent communication and organizational skills; be able to influence and work within a team; be committed to student services in a potentially high-stress encounter in a professional manner. • Exercise good judgment, weighing costs, benefits and downstream effects when proposing changes or fixes. • Possess a sound understanding of Business Intelligence and Data Warehouse methodologies. • Experience in writing a SQL to create and analyze ad-hoc reports based on needs of the Financial Aid Office users. • Experience in Student Financial Aid systems,; mastery experience in Excel, Word, Access. • Responsible to stay updated on the regulatory releases, patches, fixes, testing, and refinement of the PeopleSoft Financial Aid module. • Troubleshoot and identify user problems using available tools and local support, including Query Manager, the Higher Education Users Group (HEUG) listserv and website, Oracle’s Customer Connection, People Book, regional PeopleSoft committees, help provide functional interpretation of technical information. • Work with the business analysts in the Office of Information Technology Services to improve and support enterprise business process integration. • Develop daily, weekly, annual PeopleSoft productions schedule to ensure timely financial aid delivery to students. • Actively perform testing and implementation of new systems and releases. • Flexibility in putting in additional hours is required when priorities dictate this requirement. Preferred Qualifications: • Demonstrated proficiency (1 to 3 years’ experience) in PeopleSoft Student Administration Student Financial Aid system programming and administration, • Degree in computer science or information technology, • Master’s degree. • SQL-SQR extensive experience We offer a competitive benefits package including tuition remission, along with a professional environment designed to enhance your career development.
