Residence Director, 12-month Live-In Position Office of Residential Life and Housing Services 1 Confirmed Opening and other Anticipated Openings Keene State College houses approximately 2700 students in residential areas consisting of traditional residence halls, suites, apartment complexes, and houses. Ongoing construction and renovation projects, Living and Learning Communities for both first year students and upper-classmen, and the development of residential programs specifically for first-year and upper-class areas demonstrate a renewed institutional commitment to a quality residential experience. The Residence Director is responsible for facilitating a comprehensive student development program in a specific residential area. This includes participating in the selection, training, and supervision of Resident Assistant staff and establishing the groundwork for the departmental community development model. Additionally, the Residence Director position utilizes counseling, mediation, and advising skills in all aspects of their work, including on call responsibilities. Residence Directors serve as conduct hearing officers, members of divisional and college committees, and integral components of the college’s focus on advancing multiculturalism. Through their daily interactions with residents, staff members, student leaders, and campus counterparts, Residence Directors are a vital part of the Office of Residential Life and Housing Services, and the Division of Student Affairs at Keene State College. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2 years of residence hall leadership experience required; preference will be given to those with a Master’s degree in Student Affairs, Higher Education or related field and post-bachelor’s or graduate level residence hall experience. The successful candidates will have experience coordinating administrative functions for a facility; demonstrated experience developing and presenting educational programs; proven interpersonal and writing skills; supervisory experience; demonstrated proficiency with MS Word or equivalent, Excel, Outlook, etc. is required. A commitment to a team-based philosophy; knowledge of counseling practices; social media expertise are desired.
