Job Description Summary:

The Data Analyst will work with the Assistant Dean of Evaluation in handling curriculum evaluation data at George Washington University School of Medicine (SMHS). The focus of the position will in extracting and compiling curriculum-related data from multiple sources, and preparing the data in a manner such that it can be analyzed for multiple purposes, including, but not limited to internal reports, external reports, and potential research-related dissemination. The individual in this position will develop, build, coordinate, and merge numerous bodies of numerical and text-based data (quantitative and qualitative) into user-friendly data sets and spreadsheets, and perform some descriptive statistical analyses to help inform reporting and decision-making as related to medical school curriculum and medical education.


Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Education or a closely related social science discipline.

Demonstated experience in the following areas:
-Experience in an undergraduate medical education environment is highly desirable.
-Basic familiarity with educational or social and behavioral science statistics.
-Comfort with a statistical software package (SPSS or similar).
-Experience with qualitative data analysis is a plus.
-Familiarity with educational or social science research methods is a plus.
-Familiarity with assessment issues is a plus
-Familiarity with Windows, Mac, SPSS, and Excel are essential.
-Comfort with public speaking is a plus.


Desired Qualifications:

Master's degree in Education or a closely related social science discipline. With experience in the following areas:
