• Position Summary: The Study Abroad Coordinator for the Center for Global Education will have the responsibility for advising students who are planning to study abroad with primary responsibility for students in the Collins College of Business; coordinating campus events; and managing the CGE marketing and outreach efforts. • Characteristic duties of: Advising for Study Abroad: o Conduct individual advising sessions for students planning to study abroad. o Articulate and maintain policies to assure academic quality, safety, financial control and efficient administration o Respond appropriately to the needs of the students, parents, staff and faculty as they relate to study abroad issues o Assist students in complying with registration and academic credit transfer requirements o Assist with the design and delivery of study abroad information session, pre-departure orientation sessions, and re-entry programs Coordination of campus events: o Coordinate all aspects of the annual study abroad fairs o Design and coordinate programs for returning study abroad participants o Coordinate special events and programs, including activities related to new student orientation, campus programs sponsored by the Admissions Office, and graduation o Advise Peer Advisors responsible coordinating cultural events and annual photo contest o Coordinate campus visits from program representatives Managing CGE marketing activities: o Develop and produce CGE newsletter for distribution to on and off-campus constituencies o Produce other office publications and CGE brochures o Maintain weekly listserv for informing students of CGE news and events o Manage and maintain CGE website, including the coordination of regular updates to content, look, and design. o Develop and maintain unique and newly created marketing pieces, including bookmarks, luggage tags, pocket folder, returnee t-shirts, etc. o Track participation by new students in CGE activities and events Assisting with management of the Center for Global Education: o Assist with responding to emergencies involving students abroad. o Represent the CGE at campus, community, and national meetings as requested. o Manage budget for marketing and outreach activities o Provide accurate reporting regarding programs, activities, and student advising. o Other duties as assigned. • Minimum qualifications: o Bachelor’s degree o Three years professional experience in the field of international education o Demonstrated commitment to international education o Excellent written and oral communications skills o Ability to work independently o Previous experience managing events, including setting budgets and managing program finances o Ability to effectively use technology for managing office responsibilities • Preferred qualifications: o Masters degree in field related to international education o Second language ability o Experience with Dreamweaver or with website design o Experience with graphics design
