Hobart and William Smith Colleges seeks a sociocultural anthropologist to fill a one-year replacement position with a full-time (3-2) teaching load to begin July 1, 2014. We seek candidates with a serious commitment to undergraduate liberal arts education who are able to teach Introduction to Cultural Anthropology, a geographical area course, a topical course, an upper-level seminar, and one other offering to be determined. Preference will be given to candidates with field research experience in areas other than Africa, South Asia, and Indigenous North America. Evidence of superior teaching and a strong record of scholarship are required. The Ph.D. is preferred, but ABD applicants will be considered.
