Job Description Summary

Provide tutoring services to program participants in Math, English and basic computer skills.

Conduct educational workshops in developing basic computer skills to adult veterans.

Monitor and evaluate student progress.

Attend staff meetings, curriculum training, and graduations.

Perform other job related duties as designated.



Job Responsibilities

Teach basic Mathematics, English and computer skills to adult students.

Provide tutoring services to program participants.

Monitor and evaluate the progress of program participants.

Submit weekly reports and provide required documentation.

Attend curriculum training, staff meetings, and graduations.

Other duties as assigned



Required Qualifications

Associate’s degree in Mathematics, Education, Information Technology, Computer Science or closely related field.

At least one year experience in methods and techniques used in assisting students in a educational environment.

Classroom experience in teaching adults of diverse backgrounds in Mathematics, English, computer information, and/or general computer literacy.

Plan and conduct group and individualized training sessions designed to enhance the knowledge and ability of adult students to complete coursework.

Awareness of potential barriers faced by Veterans and Minorities.

Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work in a busy environment.

Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.

Strong oral and written communication skills



Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Education, English, Information Technology, Computer Science, or closely related field.

Two or more years of classroom experience in teaching adults of diverse backgrounds.

Experience developing and presenting materials and knowledge sharing in a manner that allows for full understanding of intended audience.

Experience working with Veterans.



Work Schedule

Average 10-12 hours/week (Mon-Thurs) between 10:00am to 6:00pm
