Position Title: Director, Scholarship Programs Position ID: 510700 Salary: $69,079.00-$86,349.00 Location: Miami Dade College, Kendall Campus All applicants must apply online at Job Description: The Director of Scholarship Programs is responsible for the direction and coordination of all activities pertaining to the College-wide Scholarship Programs. The individual works collaboratively with the Foundation administrators, the Director of Student Financial Services, Directors of the Honors Program, and coordinates the scholarship activities of each Campus Scholarship Coordinator to provide optimum Scholarship services to students and to assure that all scholarship funds are awarded annually. It also serves as the liaison to external agencies that provide scholarship opportunities to Miami Dade College students. Duties & Responsibilities: Coordinates the College-wide and Foundation Scholarship review, selection process, and campus allocation distribution Collaborates with the Colleges Foundations representative to assure the timely availability of Foundation Scholarships Monitors the identified Foundation Scholarships to assure they are made available to the Campuses for awarding in accordance with the donors intent Annually reviews existing Scholarship policies and procedures and makes recommendations for College-wide implementation strategies to bring uniformity to overall Scholarship program at the College and serves as the clearinghouse for unresolved and untimely disbursement of scholarships when all efforts have been exhausted at the campus level Monitors and prepares scholarship projections and expenditure reports of all Scholarship funds awarded annually to students and prepares Ad-Hoc reports upon request Serves as Chairperson of the College-wide Scholarship Committee and acts as resource for the Campus Scholarship Committees Represents the College, as needed, in the area high schools, community groups, and at other scheduled events and activities as deemed appropriate Conducts research to identify scholarship opportunities at the local, state and international level that might be available to MDC current and prospective students Updates and maintains the scholarship database and revises the scholarship webpage as needed Performs other duties as assigned Minimum Requirements: Masters degree in appropriate field from a regionally accredited institution and four (4) years of relevant experience or; Bachelors degree in related field with eight (8) years of related and progressive responsible experience. Knowledge and understanding of College organization, goals and objectives, and policies and procedures Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and other related computer programs Ability to communicate effectively both orally and written Ability to interpret MDC, state and federal financial aid regulations Ability to speak effectively before groups of students, parents and community groups Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include some evening and weekend assignments Ability to acquire and exhibit a comprehensive knowledge of Institutional, Foundation, Transfer and other Donor provided scholarships made available to Miami Dade College students Ability to work well in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment with students, faculty and staff Ability to plan, assign and supervise work of subordinates Possess strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with students, coworkers, and general public Possess excellent organizational skills Possess positive human relations skills and be able to work well with co-workers, supervisors, students, college community and the public Possess comprehensive knowledge of the Financial Aid process and applicable Financial Aid regulations
