Broward College invites applicants for a full time tenure track teaching position in Mathematics. Candidates should be passionate educators who can facilitate the needs of diverse 21st century learners. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of experience in teaching Pre-Algebra up through upper-level courses such as Calculus III, Differential Equations, Statistics, and Liberal Arts Mathematics. The candidate will also have experience teaching diverse populations, a sincere commitment to fostering student success, and experience with accelerated (fast-track) and blended course delivery models. Anticipated hire date: August 2014 This position is a tenure-track two-semester (163-day) contract. Minimum Education: Master's Degree in Mathematics or a Master's Degree with 18 graduate credit hours in Mathematics is required. Doctorate degree is preferred. All schedules require office hours and some may require evening and/or weekend hours. Courses may be taught at other South Campus satellite locations/centers, as needed. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Candidates should demonstrate (1) a mastery of their specific discipline; (2) a deep commitment to the college mission of fostering student success, achievement and persistence; (3) technology competencies as well as teaching/counseling skills and strategies that facilitate 21st century literacies; (4) the use of resources that prepare students for productive lives. The successful candidate must be willing to incorporate technology in the classroom and must be open to new teaching strategies to enhance student success.
