Duties: A Laboratory/Field Specialist position is available in the ecology and evolution of infectious microbes lab. The main focus of the projects involve the bacterial cause of Lyme disease, Borrelia burgdorferi. The Laboratory/ Field Specialist position entails both molecular laboratory activities as well as wildlife handling activities. The Laboratory/ Field Specialist will also produce and purify proteins, test field samples for infection by polymerase chain reaction (PCR), catch and handle animal subjects, collect samples, and collect temperatures. This position is contingent upon funding.

Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree in evolutionary biology, ecology (or a related science) and 1 - 2 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Strong molecular genetic skills and wildlife handling experiences are desirable.
