Position Summary: The TEACCH Autism Program at the University of North Carolina has an opening for a Staff Psychologist. The Staff Psychologist will hold a Clinical Assistant Professor position in the Department of Psychiatry, UNC School of Medicine. The TEACCH Autism Program began in 1972 as a system of university-based regional centers to serve children, adolescents and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder and their families. As part of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, the program has an active clinical, teaching, and research program. TEACCH operates 7 community regional clinics, a supported employment program, and a residential facility for adults with ASD. Each center offers a set of core services along with unique demonstration programs meeting the needs of individuals with ASD, their families, and professionals across the state of North Carolina. TEACCH is part of the North Carolina Area Health Education Centers (AHEC) program and faculty are actively involved in student and professional training activities within the state, nation, and across the world. This is a new position in the TEACCH Administration and Research division in Chapel Hill, North Carolina to provide TEACCH clinical services in Fayetteville, NC and will require travel to Fayetteville at least two days per week. Duties include clinical supervision of staff, a diagnostic and treatment caseload, and participation in clinical or research projects. Additional duties will include state, national, and international training.

Education Requirements: Completion of an APA-accredited PhD/PsyD clinical psychology, school psychology or related discipline and completion of an APA-accredited internship.

Qualification and Experience: Candidates must be licensed or license-eligible within 30 days of start date as a psychologist in the state of North Carolina. Must have previous clinical training and experience in assessment and treatment of individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
