Senior Associate Dean of Diversity & Global Initiatives (Program Leadership)
JOB QUALIFICATIONS: The School of Business places high value on excellence in teaching and research. Credentials and experience appropriate to Full Professor rank and tenure are preferred, but experienced Associate Professors with demonstrated excellence in teaching and research will also be considered for the position. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic faculty leader with a clear passion for diversity and global initiatives education. We seek to recruit an effective leader with a collaborative leadership style that will work with our faculty and staff colleagues to establish and implement a shared vision for diversity and global initiatives. The selected candidate should have a strong desire and ability to partner with the business community and a proven capability to implement innovative programs that meet the current and future talent needs of leading organizations. He/she should possess strong communication and interpersonal skills and experience in working with multiple stakeholders (students, alumni, recruiters, and administration) in a dynamic environment. The candidate must have a robust commitment to teaching excellence and a proven record of research accomplishments. The successful candidate will be expected to: lead the development of new diversity and global initiatives while enhancing education in our existing programs; provide thought leadership to executive and program administration; and collaborate with our advancement colleagues to secure external resources (gifts and grants) to support initiatives. With a focus on educating the whole person, our faculty members actively engage our students in their growth as emerging professionals, facilitating their acquisition of deep conceptual knowledge while helping them to attain a broad set of professional competencies and develop a clear sense of professional identity and character. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Develops and refines the vision, strategy, and action plans for a diverse and inclusive environment in the School of Business; Advises, educates, and coaches the Dean and members of the School’s Leadership Team on matters of diversity; Leads the integration of Pluralism in Business concepts (i.e., self-awareness, empathy, leveraging diversity, and global mindset) into curricular, co-curricular, and extracurricular activities in all academic programs; Develops and implements programmed learning opportunities for faculty, staff, and students on diversity and global mindset; Collaborates with the University’s Office of Diversity & Inclusion and serves as a liaison for the School of Business on University-wide diversity committees; Cultivates relationships with current corporate partners that support the School’s diversity initiatives and develops relationships with new partners; Conducts ongoing benchmarking studies with peer schools in the areas of student and faculty diversity; Engages leaders and members of diversity-related clubs (e.g., Black Business Students Association, International Students Association, Women in Business) on a regular basis; and Works with the University’s Center for Global Programs and Studies and the School’s Coordinator of Global Initiatives to provide strategic direction for international immersion experiences.
