The Department of Languages and Literatures at SUNY Geneseo invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor in Spanish beginning August, 2014. This is a temporary, one-year, full-time appointment. Responsibilities include teaching Spanish linguistics and phonology courses as well as language courses at all levels (4/4 load), student advising, and college and department service. Required qualifications: Ph.D. (preferred) or ABD in Spanish, native or near-native proficiency in Spanish, and demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching. Applicants must be qualified to teach courses in general Spanish linguistics and Spanish phonology. Preference will be given to those with experience teaching linguistics, phonology, online language courses, or advanced grammar and composition.
