RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Manages, develops, communicates, and implements education and training programs within the Association’s overall strategies using distance learning, live seminars, webinars, and outside trainers. 2. Plans, reviews and manages the education budget. 3. Explores and evaluates new technologies, techniques, approaches, or philosophies for incorporation into education and training programs. 4. Develops and oversees external relationships (educational institutions, member’s in-house trainers, training companies, consultants, technology companies, etc.) in the development and delivery of education programs, including the establishment and maintenance of contractual agreements. 5. Plans, develops, and implements marketing initiatives to increase student numbers and revenues. 6. Participates in industry committees/event representing the Association and the 3PL industry. 7. Reports to the Chair of the Education Committee and the TIA Foundation Board of Directors on education and training matters. 8. Able to travel. SKILLS, COMPENTENCIES, ATTRIBUTES: 1. Mature self-starter who can work independently and as part of small team. 2. Experience in course design and development for adult learners. 3. Familiar with new learning technologies (e-learning). 4. Excellent people management skills. 5. Sophisticated presentation, public speaking, teaching skills. 6. Proven ability to coordinate in-house trainers and outside consultants. 7. Superior project management skills. 8. Accurate/detail oriented individual capable of managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines 9. Appropriate education and/or certification. 10. Subject matter expertise in some specific areas such as third party logistics, international transportation, international trade, dangerous goods handling (air, ocean, land), cargo security etc. a plus.
