About The Unit: The Graduate Medical Education Office at the University of Chicago's Department of Radiology manages the Diagnostic Radiology Residency Program as well as three ACGME-accredited radiology subspecialty fellowship training programs and two non-ACGME fellowship programs. The Graduate Medical Education Office also manages a large component of the combined Medicine/Radiology clerkship and electives for the Pritzker School of Medicine students at the University of Chicago.

Unit Job Summary: Fellowship Program Coordinator: Manage all operational aspects of five radiology fellowship programs both independently and in conjunction with other department support personnel, diverse organizations and other constituents, both internal and external. Prepare and assist in all activities related to the American Council on Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) and ensure accreditation compliance of the programs with ACGME and institutional guidelines. Coordinate the annual applicant interview registration and match process with Fellowship Program Directors (as applicable). Work closely with the UCM GME Office to stay abreast of changes in guidelines and procedures and implement accordingly into fellowship programs. Manage fellowship evaluation process including analyzing evaluation statistics. Work as part of a team to preserve and maintain an effective and efficient service level within the Department and University. Provide back-up coverage with other departmental activities as necessary and when assigned. Medical Student Administrator: Manage all operational aspects of the Radiology Clerkship and Radiology electives. This includes (but not limited to) preparing the clerkship's orientation, lecture and conference schedules; editing and maintaining the course handbook, scheduling, grading and administering oral and written exams, processing grades and managing course websites. Also responsible for processing all applications for the radiology electives (through Enrollment Manager and VSAS) as well as all administrative aspects of the course.

Unit Education: Bachelor's degree with a minimum of two years of administrative experience in a GME affairs, student affairs, academic support, or closely-related environment or a minimum of five years of administrative experience in a GME student affairs, academic support, or closely-related environment required.

Unit Experience: Experience with Graduate Medical Education Database Systems (i.e. ACGME WebAds, ERAS, NRMP, MedHub, etc) preferred. Working knowledge of housestaff training programs and structure as well as outside reviewing agencies (ACGME, ABR, etc.) guidelines and mandates preferred. Minimum of one year experience as an ACGME coordinator of a postgraduate residency or fellowship preferred.

Unit Job Function Competencies: Demonstrated flexibility and ability to multi-task on frequent and constantly changing demands required. Ability to effectively communicate with faculty, graduate students, housestaff, and various administrative offices at all levels in the University required. Knowledge of basic grammar and punctuation to compose correspondence and reports, utilizing excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills required. Excellent organizational skills required. Attention to detail required. Analytical skills required. Ability to meet deadlines required. Ability to maintain confidentiality required. Ability to resolve problems required.
