Department Overview
The UNT Dallas College of Law is a new public law school that will enroll its first class in Fall 2014. The College of Law will strive to provide a legal education that is affordable, accessible, and incorporates best practices in educating legal professionals. Located within a major metropolitan area that currently lacks a public law school, the UNT Dallas College of Law will increase opportunities for local college graduates to attend law school without the costs associated with relocation or private tuition.

Job Description
The University of North Texas System I.T. Shared Services (ITSS) invites applications for the position of Media Technical Lead located at the UNT Dallas College of Law.

The Media Technical Lead is specialized, professional, and administrative work involving the installation, maintenance, and repair of multimedia equipment in a variety of formats and settings. An employee in this class works independently under general supervision from the Director or higher level staff and may supervise full-time or hourly staff. Works in coordination with other manager(s) and departmental staff. Experience with AV equipment, digital signage and multimedia systems, including installation and maintenance is required. Skill in locating and correcting technical problems in software, equipment, or equipment setup is required.

Job duties include, but are not limited to:
*Supervises (hires, trains, schedules, directs and evaluates) full-time and/or hourly technical staff.
*Provides technical training to staff and instructors.
*Plans and oversee individual installation projects.
*Prioritizes competing projects and allocate resources as needed.
*Manages Crestron and other A/V equipment in classrooms.
*Installs and troubleshoots technical equipment and software for faculty and staff.
*Play and record broadcast programs using automation systems
*Recommends audio-visual equipment and related hardware/furnishings.
*Provides technical support for students
*Maintains technical knowledge of equipment advances.
*Observes safety and security measures appropriate to work performed and work supervised.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in related area (preferred majors: information science, industrial technology, computer science, education or instructional technology, or radio-TV-film)
*Any equivalent combination of experience, education, or training
*Three years progressively responsible work experience with AV and microcomputer technology including some supervisory experience
*Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot problems in equipment or software
*Valid Texas driver's license and good driving record.

Preferred Qualifications
*Extensive knowledge of principles of audio, video, and interactive media production
*Considerable knowledge of audio and video recording techniques
*Ability to interpret instrument and meter readings, wiring diagrams, blueprints, schematic drawings, etc.
*Working knowledge of purchasing procedures (prefer knowledge of State purchasing requirements).
*Creston equipment knowledge highly desired
