RESEARCH INVESTIGATOR SR
Duties: Design, initiate and carry out experiments for projects in the field of molecular biology utilizing varied techniques to identify genes involved in retinal development and degeneration, including, but not limited to PCR, RT-PCR, bacterial culture, extraction of gDNA, RNA and protein, gel electrophoresis, Northern, Southern and Western blots, DNA sequencing and analysis, immunohistochemistry, cell culture. Protocol adaptation, data analysis and preparation of data, as well as writing of manuscripts for publication and supervision of undergraduate and graduate students, postdocs and work-study students.
Qualifications: Ph. D. in Biological Science with emphasis on Molecular Biology and Medical Genetics and 3 to 5 years of experience with inherited eye diseases or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. 7+ years of experience preferred.
