Summary of Responsibilities

The Director of Communications and Marketing (Director) provides dynamic, creative, and innovative leadership for the Institute's communications and marketing efforts including brand strategy, publications, media relations, website, and social media engagement.  The Director ensures that the Institute's programs and services are widely acknowledged and appreciated.  The Director serves as the chief spokesperson for the college and primary point of contact for public information.  This is a full-time professional position that sometimes requires evening and weekend work.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism, social media, English, or related field
  • 5 years experience in a managerial role in marketing and communications
  • Experience in developing effective publications
  • Working knowledge of industry-standard software such as Adobe Photoshop and InDesign; web, mobile, and social media authoring/analytical tools; MS Office and project management tools
  • Budget management experience
  • Current knowledge of social media platforms and community engagement strategies
  • Broad exprience in managing staff, administration, and planning in a collaborative team environment
  • Experience working effectively with a diverse workforce and constituents
  • Computer software proficiency with MS Office, Outlook, and social media
  • Demonstrated project management skills
  • Experience managing computer technology in publication design, electronic pre-press, and printing processes
