Research Associate III
The Research Associate III performs a high level of independent research and/or serves as one of the lead researchers and curriculum developer within the Temple CARITAS program team. The Research Associate will work with community organizations and nonprofit agencies in the design and implementation of research, training projects, grant consultation and program development; research best practices in the provision of services to older adults, perform data collection, analysis, and literary research; monitor instructors and facilitators; and will be responsible for planning, scheduling, coordinating, and directing phases of research activity. In addition, the Research Associate III will assist in the development of research project goals, stating problems to be investigated, creating experimental design, and proposing procedures to be followed; and will participate in locating new projects and work with CARITAS staff in the writing of project and grant proposals. Performs other duties as assigned. Required Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree and at least three years related research experience including experience in coordinating training events and monitoring instructors and facilitators. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Required Skills and Abilities: *Strong knowledge of nonprofit, local government and state government human services. *Strong organizational, coordination and time management skills. *Excellent analytical and research evaluation skills. *Strong communication and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to interact with a diverse population of faculty, staff and students. *Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as part of team. *Computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite, Publisher or similar software programs. *Ability to conduct statistical analysis with SPSS software. *Ability to travel to off-site locations that may not be accessible by public transportation. Preferred: *Masters of Social Work (MSW). *Experience in research or curriculum development related to aging and adult issues. *Five years experience with program development, training and curriculum design.
